fast DELE

Tarwih prayer the first day of Ramadan 1430, August 21, 2009. For the first time I choose to pray first tarwih this year at the Great Mosque "Nurul Huda" New tight, after leaving the atmosphere 40 years of praying in the mosque that was in my birthplace, (Village) New tight. Mosque 40 years ago when I was a kid growing up was a one-story building without ornament, shaped somewhat larger than houses, now has turned intention into a large two-story building, with a towering dome of the artistic, with a beautiful yard, surrounded by concrete fence adorned with attractive metal screw. The number of pilgrims continued to increase, so that the mosque was consecrated as one of the great mosque in the city of Manado.
Being in the midst of the congregation - which some still I know because I was often back and forth in places where most of my family still lives - cast my memories of childhood in the (village) tight. Although I was a bit hesitant at first whether the mechanism is still tarwihnya prayers as I and my friends did 40 years ago, anyway I finally relieved that the number of cycles tarwih prayers in the mosque that is now imposing it remains the same as the first - eight cycles plus three cycles Witr - as we did before.
Somewhat overwhelmed, when I arrived at the mosque about five minutes at half-past eight in the evening, pilgrims will pray throughout the mosque has occupied even in the outer court and side yard and front yard entrance to the east and south. I then joined the crowd in the courtyard entrance to the east, though in a state of "forced" to get a place above the tile without pengalas. Fortunately, a sheet of cloth which is usually my turban draped over his shoulders, useful also for pengalas floor where I stood praying.
Great Mosque "Nurul Huda" has become the center of worship of Muslims from the two village, New ketang and New Ternate, because it was right on the border that separates the two heavily populated urban villages and the majority of Islamic people.
After the Isha prayer, sunnah prayers after Isha Ba'da two cycles, I saw a little into the back of one of two empty places left by another congregation opted out. I then moved into it and found a more comfortable atmosphere of being in the mosque.
Compared with the implementation of the prayers at the mosque tarwih others, praying in the mosque tarwih Nurul Huda was somewhat not so much "lip service". After the call to prayer, silence, Isha prayers immediately implemented. Done Isha, pausing only to provide an opportunity for congregational prayers sunnah, tarwih prayers began.
I take in the atmosphere is more solemn, as verse after verse from the Koran down a clear and fluent from the mouth of the Imam who leads the prayer. Prayer movements are calm and not rush to make me feel comfortable. Plus the atmosphere in the "home" makes me able to finish the prayer tarwih with relief.
I told this all, because of the mosque was carved many interesting stories in my childhood, when learning to teach, learn prayers and many other behaviors that characterize the Islamic way of me until now.
Like mosques others, at the prayer times, especially in the month of ramadan, the children and teenagers has always been an important part of the mosque every day activity. Similarly, in the Masjid "Nurul Huda". Me and my friends at every ramadhan spend much time in the mosque. Gathering time is usually the busiest at prayer time, day or night, including tarwih prayer time, and at midnight when I and my friends set out from mosques around the village to wake the dawn with a variety of tools that can be beat , including buckets and tin plate.
Although at that time was not yet known habit of "breaking with" the mosque, yet the existing tradition, though it was packed break - especially by the children - usually brought their own from home.
The interesting traditions that go along with, sometimes a justification for me and my friends, that we were really fast on that day. Usually before the break, we mengiterogasi each one with another, whether really fast or just "fast DELE".
I do not know exactly where the vocabulary word "fasting DELE", but it became our habit at that time to refer to the fast half-half, or even not fast at all but admitted on the day go fast, as "fast DELE" .
According to the guidance of Islam, the obligation to fast is the point of hunger, thirst and hunger as well as holding the passions (anger and lust), then became the basis of our understanding of childhood that fasting is not meant to eat or drink during the day before arriving time break in the afternoon.
Well, because the Islamic guidance calls like that, then each of us who are caught eating during the day but later admitted he fasted on that day, will be yelled at by my friends as a "fast DELE". Called that, because of the two was a vocabulary connection, "the fast food DELE ... kalo bapele" (meaning: the fast DELE .... Mealtimes hiding).
DELE term fasting, then not only to the children who fasted half-half, because the habit was not fasting at the time of the (Islamic) the other was obliged to fast, also occurs in adults, even old people in various places of the house, in the markets, and in the office then and until now.
Not only fast Dele, now we also often find the term "fasting three days", ie fasting on three days only the first month of ramadhan. There is also the term "fasting even". What is meant by that was not a thirty-day fast during Ramadan, but fasting for three days starting from the first day of fasting, fasting 15 days and fasting days to 30.
In Islam, fasting during Ramadan is an obligation that must be fulfilled by every person who claims Islam. In the Qur'an Allah says: "O ye who believe, fasting obligatory upon you, as it was incumbent upon the people before you, that ye may be righteous". Word was clearly an inseparable part of the behavior of devout Muslims. Since the Prophet Muhammad in a hadistnya warned of God as revealed to him: "He who is fasting in the month of ramadan and sincere faith in God, it will be forgiven his sins past and future" (HR.Ahmad).
Attitude which every Muslim fasting obligations partially, or even make fast as derision materials (toys), Prophet Muhammad warned: "Sometimes people who were not fasting reward of fasting, but his thirst" (Narrated by An-Nasa'i).
Departure from the word of God and the Prophet Muhammad's hadith, let us correct ourselves in ramadhan this time, we improved our fast until the end of ramadan, and we pick up Grace and forgiveness from God Almighty who will come later. Amen. (Author: Tamzil H.Permata)
